Customer reviewsIntense TOXIC kerosene odor. Unbearable.
I'm shocked that people would buy this or rate this highly and I am hoping that our order was a fluke, for the sake of others who have this in their home. This ottoman smells intensely like kerosene. The smell is so bad it fills our entire apartment and we immediately had to put it outside. When I googled jute and kerosene smell, a number of websites come up that describe the toxic smell coming from petrochemicals that are used to treat jute. I have no doubt that the odor is toxic, if not carcinogenic and it will have no place in my home. I'm shocked that a furniture company would put chemically treated materials like this into their products and sell them to people for use in their homes. I would definitely stay away
