Customer reviewsIt's not 100 solid wood, but it's sturdy
My old dresser had the back made of cardboard, as well as the inside of the drawers, with particle board everywhere else. Based on the pictures and the price, as well as the weight, and coming assembled, I was kind of hoping for the whole thing to be solid wood, although I knew there was a risk due to not so many reviews yet and not a clear enough description on that. Well, what we have here is better than what I had before for sure. The sides and top are all solid wood, as are the legs, and the sides of the drawers. However, the back and bottom of the dresser, and the bottom of the drawers appear to be some kind of particle board like material, although it has the appearance of wood, but it's clearly not as strong as the rest. That being said, it does appear fairly sturdy upon first inspection. Certainly much more sturdy than my old one, which is the primary reason I wanted this, and the bottom does appear to have some supports which should help prevent sag as well. Overall I think I'm mostly satisfied with it. We will of course see how it holds up over the months and years, but I do have confidence it will be fairly sturdy. I would have preferred solid wood and I'm annoyed at how difficult it is to find that online, but I think I will be much happier with this dresser than my previous one, which was practically falling apart after only a few years of use.
